The Crow Nation Language Club of Billings, Montana offers one $1,000 scholarship each year to a high school senior or current college student who is a proficient speaker of the Apsaalooke Crow language and who is actively involved in Crow cultural activities.
This scholarship is intended to strengthen language preservation, encourage cultural engagement, and support continued education.
The $1,000 award will be distributed in two installments:
• $500 awarded in Fall 2026
• $500 awarded in January 2027
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
• Be an enrolled member of the Crow Nation (Apsaalooke)
• Be a proficient Apsaalooke language speaker
• Be actively involved in Crow cultural activities
• Be accepted for admission to a college or university for Fall 2026 (high school seniors) or currently enrolled in a college or university (current college students)
• Participate in a personal interview with the Crow Nation Language Club of Billings
Applicants must submit:
• One letter of recommendation from a teacher, mentor, community member, or cultural or language leader
• A personal statement on Apsaalooke language and cultural involvement
• Proof of college acceptance for Fall 2026 (high school seniors) or proof of current college enrollment (college students)
Applications open February 17, 2026.
All application materials must be submitted no later than April 30, 2026.
